Grandma Hodgkinson's Graveside

Last week my Grandma Hodgkinson died.
She was my twin.
(We were both born on Feb 27th).

She was a wonderful woman with a fun sense of humor.
I called her several times a week to tell her funny stories about my kids because I knew I could count on her for a good belly laugh!  She was so much fun!

Her funeral was in Arizona on the 10th.  Unfortunately I wasn't quite ready for a trip like that and of her 22 grandkids, there were only two missing.  She had also had 50 great grandchildren (Lucy was number 50).

She was a wonderful example in so many ways!  She loved the gospel and she and my grandpa served missions in Washington DC, New Zealand, and Hawaii!

I will miss her so much, but I am so glad for the time we had together!

1 Month Lucy

Lucy is getting bigger every day!
When she first came home, her calf felt like a stick with a tiny ball (between a pea and a marble size) for her muscle.  Today, her legs feel a lot bigger!

This week she slept for SIX hours one night and then SEVEN hours the next!
(Hopefully this will continue even after I've announced it).

She still loves her baths.
She still dislikes getting her diaper changed.
She still calms down quickly  when we whisper in her ear.

We love Lucy!

4th with the Gunnersons

We had a fun BBQ with the Gunnersons on the fourth!
It was so fun to be together--especially since Tom, Judi, and Preston flew in the night before!
We have MISSED them so much!  We are so glad to have them back!
I think this was the first time we've all been together in about 5 years!
We sure have a great family!

Lucy made the rounds meeting all of her cousins!

And I finally got to meet Preston!  He is seriously the CUTEST kid EVER!!

I LOVE him so much already!!

Preston and Lucy are 9 months apart!
I seriously think Preston is the same size as Andrew!  He is HUGE!!

Thank mom and dad for the fun day!!

"SURPRISE!!"

A while before Lucy was born, my mom asked me if I would like to go on one last little “outing.”  Of course I said yes, and she told me it was a surprise, but it would be the Saturday two weeks before my due date.

Well, when Lucy came early, I was surprised that my mom still wanted to take me on my “outing.”  I told her I didn’t think I would be up to it, but she said we were staying in the city and we wouldn’t be doing a lot of walking, so I agreed.

As I walked out to my mom’s car, my cute neighbor, Laurie, came running out of her house.  She asked me if I could come look at something she made for primary REALLY quick.  I ALMOST said no because I was just about to leave with my mom.  But my mom said I could go really quick and she’d wait for me.

Well, I was BEYOND SHOCKED when I walked into Laurie’s house with a bunch of my friends yelling, “SURPRISE!!”

They threw me the CUTEST little baby shower!!  Everyone was SOOO nice and SOOO generous!!  It was such a fun surprise!!  (And I'm sure she did it as a surprise because there is NO WAY I would have let her do this for me if I knew about it! Ha!)  It was a day filled with beautiful flowers, delicious food, wonderful friends, and more!

One of the things about having a fourth child is that you really don’t NEED anything, but it sure is fun to have new cute things for Lucy!  And my friends have such great style and taste!  I LOVE the things they bought!

It was a wonderful day and I felt overwhelmingly loved!  I am so blessed to have such amazing, good, kind friends!!  Thank you friends!  Especially, thank you to Laurie!  You are an amazing friend, and I love you so much!!

Fairies at Gardner Village

Kristy took Lindsay on a little outing with Eliza and Reese to see the fairies at Gardner Village.
That is one thing that has killed me about this longer recovery---I hate missing out on fun activities.  I definitely have a case of "FOMO."

Thanks Kristy for taking Lindsay for such a fun day!
