Last day

LAST DAY OF TREATMENTS!!! Hooray!!! It feels so great to be done! ✅ We will miss seeing the doctors, nurses, techs, staff, etc, but but so glad to be finished! Darin’s doctor said he will continue to get worse for a few weeks before we see him getting better. (Which makes me sad because he is already so sick and feeling awful these days). But they are so proud of how well he has done! Most patients need to get feeding tubes by half way, and Darin made it through the whole time without needing one. Eating is still very painful, and we’ve had to get creative in getting him enough calories, but he is doing his best! Darin does a lot better in the mornings and gradually gets worse as the day goes on. They said they won’t be able to do any scans or imaging to see results for at least a month because everything is so raw and swollen from the radiation. We are excited for the road to recovery! ❤️‍🩹

I also had to include the books I’ve read since I’ve had a lot of time in the waiting room. My favorites were #1- The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. It’s a change your life book!  #2- Little Women (not sure if I can fully count this because I’m not finished yet, but HOW have I never read this?? I am loving it) #3- Big Dumb Eyes. Also, not sure if this one counts because technically we did the audio version, but laughed our heads off! It was sooo funny!!

We just feel beyond grateful for the kindness and help of so many during this time! There have been sooo many miracles and it has made me want to be a better person to help others the way so many have helped us! Extra shout out to my parents taking our kids to school EVERY DAY for the last 6 weeks! We have been so blessed!! Now here’s hoping for happy news at the next follow up appointment! 😀

Fall Cabin Trip

Best cabin trip ever!!!

We were able to go to the cabin for conference weekend! We had beautiful views and running water!
We pulled the kids from school so we could be there Thursday to Sunday. We did have to drive back into town for Darin’s radiation. Yummy food, perfect weather, and lots of relaxing! We loved having starlink to stream conference!
