Matt's 8th Lego Birthday

Today Matt had a Lego birthday party!
(I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS BOY IS EIGHT)

We had a little "after school snack" of pizza and rainbow jello.
We played "Guess How Many Legos."
We played "Lego Toss"
We played "Lego-buildinary" (like pictionary but with legos instead of drawing).
They built their own racecars (that they got to keep) and then we raced them.
Last we had cupcakes.

It was a WONDERFUL day!!

And a big shout-out to my awesome sister, Heather for surprising us with cute lego candles and helping me with the cake.  And a big shout-out to my mom for bailing me out with the jello I needed so I didn't have to go to the store!  And last, a big shout out to my SIL, Jadi, for letting my copy her whole party she did for her son, Kaden a few years ago!

Matthew's Flag Football

Matthew is about half way through his flag football season.
I have been TERRIBLE about bringing my camera (I've only brought it ONCE).
But, I had to share my favorite play of Matthew's!

In the huddle.

Matt has been playing center.

Fake the handoff....

Start up the center....

Heading into the masses...

It looks like this kid has him!  Flag in hand!

But Matt makes a clean getaway!

And nearly gets to the endzone!

We sure do love his coach!  (Our neighbor, Brent).

And Matt always has quite the cheering section!!

My 3 Favorite Kids!

I just love these three!!
We turned these three pictures into some cute valentines for family and friends.
(I'll try to remember to post those later).
But, for now, just enjoy these beautiful faces!

Matt's DINO Party!

Matt had a fun Dino Birthday Party yesterday.
He invited two friends from school and two from church.
I picked Matt and his friends up from school in our decorated car.

We started with some after school snacks (Matt's favorite bacon wrapped smokies, dino nuggets, and veggies).
We played a few games (Where's your bone Dino, Feed the T-Rex, and Reverse Hot Lava).
I made each of the kids their own dino tail (they had to try to knock over cups using only their tails).
Then, they ran around in the snow making "dino prints."
We extracted dinosaurs from ice (I thought this was going to be a dumb activity, but they LOVED it).
We looked for dino bones in the sand (I made the bones with homemade playdough a week before).
They pieced the dino bones together to make a full dinosaur!
We came inside and made a volcano then watched our volcano cake erupt (I put dry ice inside and it looked really cool!)
Last, we watched the classic "Land Before Time" while we waited for parents to come.

Those kids laughed and laughed THE WHOLE TIME!  I honestly don't know what they were laughing about, but I kept getting the giggles listening to them.

And a big shout out to mom for watching my sick kids during the party!  Thanks mama!

Happy 7th Birthday Matt!!

Matt can ride a bike!

Last week, the only "no training wheel" bike Matt could ride was this fun bike:

Then, at the end of last week, Darin took of Matt's training wheels of this little bike!
And he got the hang of it right away!

Two days later he graduated to his "Big Bike!"
He LOVES it and doesn't want to do anything else these days!

Andrew got his own ride too.
It's actually the neighbor's but he sneaks and gets it all the time!
