Thank You!

 My favorite part of Disneyland...

Handing out "Thank You" notes.

A week before we left, I had an idea to make "Thank You" notes to give to people at Disneyland.

I thought I was so original until I googled it and found I wasn't the first to do it

At the beginning of the week, I told the kids to look for people doing kind things for us.
By, the end of the week, THEY were the ones initiating it!

Someone held the door for us, and Lindsay said, "They are being kind.  Can we thank them?"

I LOVE seeing the expressions on peoples' faces.  And I LOVED seeing my kids notice service.

Everyone seemed to love the notes!  The kids got lots of hugs, nice comments, and even a few stickers and buttons!

One person said they received a thank you note a while ago, and it was still on their mirror at home.
Another said that Lindsay just made Disneyland magical for him.

Most of our notes were generic notes with a butter mint.
But we also handed out a few of these notes that the kids colored before we left.
Then we added personal messages on the side.

One time, after a parade Lindsay started handing out candies to all the sweepers.  

I didn't realize that their boss was walking right behind us.
He said, "Excuse me," (my stomach dropped and I thought we were going to get into trouble) "my crew works really hard and doesn't get appreciated.  Thank you so much.  Would you mind if I take a picture of your kids with my crew?"

If you go to Disneyland, I HIGHLY suggest doing thank you notes!

It was so fun for our whole family, and it was fun to appreciate some of the less noticed workers!

I Love to See the Temple.

Last week we had Stake Conference.

Someone shared President Monson's quote, 

"Let your children touch the temple so it can touch them."

They talked about letting your kids physically touch the temple.

Yesterday, after naps, we took the kids on a walk to the temple and let them touch it.

I think that the temple did touch them.

When we got home, Matt wanted to change his leaf on our "Thankful Tree."

He wanted his leaf to show that he's thankful for the temple.

Apple Picking and Apple Pie

Yesterday Matt, Lindsay, and I made my favorite apple pie.

We started out by picking the apples from our own back yard.

I love these kids, and decided to make a little movie to go with it.

The words in the song describe a lot of how I feel.

"It's not perfect, but it's everything I've dreamed of."

"It's pure bliss....It doesn't get better than this!"

Thankful!

I honestly cannot believe how good and kind people are!  I really feel like I have the best friends and family in the whole wide world!  People have been so kind to us with our new addition!!  All you wonderful people make me want to be so much better!!

I feel so thankful for all the DELICIOUS meals that people have brought us!

We’re so thankful for all the tasty treats people have brought!

We’re also so thankful for the visits and gifts!  I really didn’t need anything since we’ve already had a boy, and I really wasn’t expecting anything from anyone, but I’m amazed at the things little Andrew has gotten (and I will admit, although we didn't NEED anything, it is really fun to have some new outfits for him!  Thanks!!)

I’m so thankful for my mom—this woman is amazing!!  Not only did she help me get everything in order before Andrew came, but she helped nearly every day after!  Every time she came she would let me take naps while she would take care of the kids, clean up the house, and more!  Thanks mama!!

(This before and after happened pretty much every day).

And I am so thankful for such an awesome husband!  Darin really is the best!  I don’t know how he does it.  It has been quite a transition with a new baby, new job, trying to figure out insurance, and having Darin gone nearly ALL the time, but when he is home he is SO helpful!  He takes Andrew so I can sleep, he feeds the kids, helps with dishes, rubs my back, fills up my water bottle, takes the kids on outings, and so much more!  I really am so lucky!  Thanks Darin for ALL you do!!
