Alphabet Dates--Z Date

Yesterday we did our final Alphabet date!  Z!!

We went to the ZIPPED up to go to the  ZOO, (looked for ZEBRA but didn't see any), went to ZUPA's for lunch, and watched ZOO Keeper, then took a rest and got some ZZZZZs.

I couldn't believe how ACTIVE the animals were!  And even though it was a free day NO ONE was there!!  I bet we went 30 minutes without seeing another person.  Even the workers were just building snowmen because there was NO ONE there!!  (Ok, maybe like 5 other families).

African Safari at Hogle Zoo

Today Kristy invited us to the African Safari Grand Opening!

It was SUCH a FUN day!

The kids got free cookies, sunglasses, masks, tattoos, and art projects.

We rode on the new train, the carousel, and learned how to play African drums.

We went to the bird show, (so fun to run into you Gina), and saw the new animals.

It was a PERFECT day!  Thanks again Kristy!

To the Zoo

My friend Jena is pretty much amazing!

She's the kind of person everyone wants to be like.

She is an amazing mom, she always looks so cute, and she's fun to be with.

I was having a crummy week, and she invited us to the zoo.

It was the perfect midweek pick-me-up!

Matt was extra excited too, because Jena is now his sunbeam teacher.

It was a PERFECT day for the zoo (overcast with a small crowd).

We went on the carousel (well Jena took the boys on the carousel).

We went to the new splash pad which the kids LOVED.

 (Lindsay made Jena take her down the slide about 20 times!)

We always love the new Rocky Shores!

This picture cracks me up.  Lindsay was so scared to touch the bronze statue.

And of course, we love all the animals!!
