Last night was my mom's surprise 60th birthday party.
I may have been planning this for about 6 months.
My mom really is the best. I mean--REALLY THE BEST!!
We did a "double surprise" party.
First the immediate family surprised her at dinner at La Cantina.
(I forgot to snap a picture of her surprised face, so she humored me and did it again).
After dinner, Dad blind folded mom, and we had a second surprise party at our house with all of the extended family.
We had LOTS of desserts
(Chocolate cake, red velvet cupcakes, lemon tart, vanilla blackberry tarts, lemon bars, lemon cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows, keylime pie, sixlets, and lemonheads).
We watched a slideshow of mom's life.

Rick and Uncle Steve roasted the marshmallows over mom's 60 candles!
And we gave her a book of 60 memories from friends and family!
