February Service

This was my FAVORITE month of service!!

We were done a lot earlier in the month, but the kids and I had so much fun!

#1- We gave roses to most of the widows in our neighborhood.
#2- We made and delivered cookies to family and friends
#3- We made and delivered valentine cards to our local Care Center
#4- We heart attacked our Bishop and Primary President

January Service

We were really excited to start our February Service, when we realized we did NO service in January.  So, we did a quick service day to get all 4 projects done in one day!

For our "January" service we:

#1- Hid a dollar in the dollar toy section with a note for someone to chose a free toy

#2 We asked our cashier what his favorite treat was, then bought it for him
#3 We taped some popcorn to the redbox with a note that said to enjoy some free popcorn

#4 We taped a note and $2 in quarters to the car wash

November Service

We are on month three of "Who Can I Serve Today" Service Projects!

Here are our four new weekly projects:

#1- We made and delivered caramel apples
#2- We wrote thank you notes to people who don't normally get them (teachers, bus driver, etc).
#3- Took canned food to the food bank.
#4- Made place-mats to donate to Meals on Wheels
(I HIGHLY recommend this one...so fun and the people LOVED them!!)

October Service

Here are our 4 service projects for October.

#1- We took donuts to some nurses up at the U of U (including our favorite nurse, Krista).

#2- We raked our neighbors' yard.

#3- We donated 20 care packages to the Women's Shelter

#4- We donated the majority of the kids Halloween candy to Valley View Elementary (they are collecting candy to send to the Service men and women over seas, and you can still donate if you'd like to!  Feel free to contact me for more info).

I was REALLY proud of how generous my kids were with sharing their candy.  Matt kept 7 pieces of candy for himself, and said, "Do you think I kept too much?"  Sweet boy.  Lindsay wasn't feeling as generous, but she decided to keep about 7 pieces too.  Andrew didn't have much choice.  I let him pick 3 candies and then we gave the rest away.

September's Service

This year, we chose the family theme, "Who Can I Serve Today?"

Every night at dinner we ask the kids who they served.  

Their daily service can be small like smiling at a stranger or sharing a toy.

Once a week, we try to do a family service that is a little bigger.

I hope to report or service each month.

I am NOT doing this for a pat on the back, rather, to to help my kids remember how good it feels to serve and maybe even encourage someone else to do a little service too!

So, here is our service for the month!

We donated a DOZEN bags of clothing to a boy in our ward to help with his Eagle Project.

We picked our peaches and shared with our neighbors.

We took dinner to Lindsay's primary teacher that had had surgery.

We made and donated bookmarks to the library.
