Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

We had a SUPER happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had rainbow waffles with cousins, story time at the library, St. Patty's service, crazy pranks from sneaky leprechauns, Irish dinner, and more!  Great day!

I was disappointed with the way the waffles, turned out--so I tried to do one as a pancake.  It was disappointing too, but they tasted good! :)

St. Patrick's Day

Usually, St. Patrick's Day is a day full of green dye.
This year, I made these pancakes and eggs green by adding lots of spinach, and the kids LOVED them!  Who would have thought whole wheat spinach pancakes would go over so well!  This will become a regular at our house!

My sisters and a few nieces came over for lunch!  We had spinach wraps, rainbow fruit, spinach salad, cucumbers, chips, sushi, vegi sticks, and rice crispy treats!

 

After lunch we read, "Leprechaun on the Loose" and went on a scavenger hunt!

St. Patty's Playdate

Lindsay has been begging to play with Boogie for weeks.

We FINALLY made it happen, and it happened to be on St. Patrick's Day.

Matt had some friends over too, so we had to make it a little green!

We did some finger painting.

And we had a green lunch.

(Green lemonade, peanut butter sandwiches on homemade green bread, green jello, celery, apples, and clover chips).

And we ended the playdate by going on a scavenger hunt to find a leprechaun. 

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Our St. Patrick’s Day started a week ago when my mom had us up for a St. Patricksy dinner.

Tuesday Matt had a preschool St. Patrick’s Day party where they made Leprechaun traps. 
I’ll admit, I’ve never had the desire to do the whole “Leprechaun trap” thing.
I’m not sure why, but it just seemed weird to me.

But after they made these, and we set it out the night before, I think I might be hooked!
Matt LOVED it, and it made me love it too!
Our leprechaun left a note saying “Nice Try!” 

But then he also left clues to where the pot of gold was…and we found it!

After our hunt, we had shamrock French toast….

(I'm really thinking I should invest in a shamrock cookie cutter..my attempt with a knife is a little sad).

And we discovered that the leprechaun turned our milk green! 

Matt thought that was so funny!

After breakfast we went to church (and luckily for us, Matt had a green shirt and tie and Lindsay has a few green dresses!).  

After church we made a little rainbow craft.

Matt did a really good job!

Next we made some treats to sneakily deliver to some people.

And of course we had to have our corned beef and cabbage dinner.

With rainbow fruit, and pot of gold jello!

And we ended the night we our “Leprechaun on the Loose” book.

March 17- Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

We started the morning with a bowl of Lucky Charms (I left a note on the box for Darin that said “I’m so LUCKY to be married to a CHARMing guy like you!”)

After breakfast we had a playdate with Matthew’s friends Daxton and Evelyn. We had a little lunch together with green punch, green celery, sandwiches with green toothpicks, a fruit rainbow, with a jello pot of gold at the end.










In the afternoon Matthew and I built a green Leprechaun house and played with green playdough.





For dinner we had corned beef and gabbage with beer…or apple beer…or I guess it was just apple juice.




And of course we ended the night in green p.j.’s and read a St. P day book!

(Does anyone have a St. Patrick's Day book that they love? This was the only one that I own, and I'd think there would be a better one out there.)
