World Tour

Since we couldn't go anywhere for Spring Break, we decided to travel the world, from home.

DAY 1- PARIS:

We went to a Cafe for breakfast and had crepes. We had a french picnic in the park.  Matt has wanted to learn how to make eclairs for a while, so this seemed like a good day.  We also made macarons for our French Bakery!  We participated in the "Tour de France." That night we had beef bourguignon for dinner and watched Ratatouli.

DAY 2- NEW YORK

We had New York Bagels and "Big Apples" for breakfast.  We rode on the "Subway." We went to Yankee Stadium to play baseball.  We had hot dogs in Central Park.  We went to Broadway to watch "Wicked" and "Newsies." We had New York style pizza for dinner and watched "You've go Mail."

DAY 3- MEXICO

I was a little lazy, so we had cereal for breakfast at the hotel's free breakfast.  We watched the boys in a luchador wrestling match.  They joined a marachi band.  The participated in the world cup, we had pina coladad and churros on the beach.  Then we had a mexica fiesta for dinner and watched "Nacho Libre."

DAY 4- ITALY

We had pastries and hot chocolate for breakfast in a cafe that was very similar to the one we went to in Paris.  We used marshmallows and toothpicks to make our own leaning towers of Pisa.  We had pizza at an Italian restaurant.  We went to Milan for fashion week. Andrew took a Gondola Ride. We ended the night with the Lizzie McGuire movie and gilato. 

DAY 5- JAPAN

We had miso soup for breakfast, sushi for lunch. The kids stuffed their shirts with pillows and did some sumo wrestling.  We did karaoke. We hiked Mt Fuji and had some Japanese treats.  We made origami and had Japanese noodles for dinner and mochi for dessert

Andrew's 7th Birthday

Andrew's birthday was during the quarantine, so it was a little different.

It was very simplified, but it was still fun.

We had a pokemon lunch, Andrew decorated his own cake, and we went on a Pokemon scavenger hunt.  That night we watched episodes of Pokemon as a family (the biggest form of love---that show is not my favorite).  The best part of Andrew's birthday for me was when I said, "Andrew, I'm so sorry that none of your friends can come." He said, "That's okay mom!  My family are my favorite people anyway, and you get to come!"

Easter Week

The Thursday before Easter we decorated Easter eggs and Easter cookies!

(We didn't want to do in on our usual Friday, because we got to join in a world wide fast.

Friday night, right before the kids went to bed, we had a knock on the door, and my sister, Heather, and her kids set up a "sanitized glow in the dark" egg hunt!  It was SOOOO much fun!  It was extra awesome, because earlier that day I was talking to my neighbor that said she was going to do one for her kids (I'd never ever heard of that before), then Matt said he wished we could do one!  A few hours later, he got one!  

Saturday morning the Easter Bunny came!  (And Friday night, the Easter bunny had two extra helpers this year--fun and a little sad too--why do kids have to grow up??)

Darin made cute bunny pancakes!

Easter Sunday we finished our Easter Week poster, had a delicious dinner (if I do say so myself, and toot my own horn--TOOT!).
