Hodgkinson Family Funcation 2018-- Day 2

Day two of the "Funcation" started with each of the grand kids sharing a fact about an ancestor.  It was fun to hear all the different facts from so many in our heritage!  Next, we took a hike up Farmington Canyon.  It was a fun hike with a pretty waterfall!  After the hike we went to mom and dad's house for a yummy lunch, visiting, and family history games.  After the games, we went to the movie theater to watch Incredibles 2.  Just before the movie started, the fire alarm went off and we all had to be evacuated.  So, we hustled up to Station Park in Farmington to watch the movie there, but the only seats available were the front row.  So, instead, we just let the kids play at the park for a bit, then went back to mom and dads for another yummy dinner.

Hodgkinson Family Funcation 2018-- Day 1

My parents put on the BEST family "staycation" that they called our "funcation" this week.
We had three days of non-stop fun activities!
It is always so fun to be together, and we really did have so much fun!

The first day was Thursday, and we began the day with a delicious breakfast, some fun games, and cute family history activities.  My parents asked my siblings and me to share one memory about a grandparent or ancestor.  My sister, Heather, talked about our great-grandpa that would hide candy rocks for the kids to find.  Then she hid candy rocks for all of the kids to find.  It was very cute.
Next, Rick, talked about how our grandma Hodgkinson was SO excited for him, when his wife, Heather accepted the invitation for their first date, and talked about how Grandpa Welling kissed Rick's wife, Heather, before Rick did, then proudly proclaimed, "Rick my boy!  That's how it's done!"
I talked about my Grandpa Hodgkinson and how he HATED blood and how I LOVED showing him my loose teeth just to see him cringe and how he would repaint the walls of his home after having the grandchildren over.  Ben went last and told a memory of our great grandma Mimi giving the boys new skateboard, chocolates, and $50 at Christmas.

After the breakfast and memories, we spent the day at RUSH.  We went bowling, played laser tag, did bumper cars, played laser tag, went rollerskating, did laser-tag,  went mini golfing, played laser tag, and so much more.  We only stopped briefly for lunch, then ended the day with dinner at Cantina.  It was a wonderful day and mom and dad were so kind and generous!  Thanks parents!
