Date Week!

This has been a date week!

Thursday Darin and I went to the temple together (thanks mom and dad for watching the kiddos).

Friday Darin and I went on a double date with our neighbors for sushi
(yes, I'm pregnant and I eat sushi, my doctor gave me the ok).

This afternoon I went on a date with Lindsay, and Darin and I are going out AGAIN tonight. (Thanks in advance Ben and Kristy)
(We're going to the adult meeting of Stake Conference, but hey, a date is a date!)

THIS post, however, is all about my date with my cute Lindsay!

My mom got Lindsay and me tickets to the ballet to see Alice in Wonderland!  It was SOOO cute!  The costumes were amazing, the dancers were great, the choreography was excellent, and Lindsay was in HEAVEN!  I was worried she would get restless and noisy, but she was mesmerized!  She LOVED it!  The only time she was slightly a distraction was when she said, “I want to do it!”  and whenever the rabbit came out she’d get really excited.

After the ballet we went to Cutlers for a turkey cranberry sandwich (my favorite) and to the park. 

It was a nice little date with the two of us.  I was glad that I got some one on one time with Lindsay before the baby comes.  And hopefully I’ll be able to do the same with my Matt man!  Although, I think he had a great time with his dad at home building forts and doing “man stuff.”—he is sure lucky to have such a wonderful dad!

Seuss

We had a little Dr. Seuss birthday celebration today.

It started out with Green Eggs and "Ham"

And dad made some Cat in the Hat hat pancakes

We read a bunch of books,

And made our own "Oobleck" (thanks for the idea Jadi!)

Later we had some lunch.

We had one fish tuna fish sandwiches,

And for dessert we had one fish two fish jello.

That's a lot of candles!

TWENTY-EIGHT!!  I felt like when I was 27, I could still count that as “mid-twenties”  but 28 is definitely “late-twenties.”  Feeling older, but surprisingly ok with it, especially since 28 has started out so great!

Darin was going to be gone all day on my actual birthday with work and meetings, so he took me out early for a lunch date, which was great.  (And thanks mom for not only watching the kids, but doing my laundry too!)

My actual birthday was WONDERFUL too!  I woke up to darling homemade cards from my family.  In the afternoon, my awesomely fabulous sister, Heather, took me (and my kiddos) to Café Zupas!  SOO yummy!  I had the Thai Lobster Curry and the Nuts about Berries Salad!  Both DELCIOUS!  She even got me TWO chocolate covered strawberries.  THANKS HEATHER!!

In the afternoon I receive visits, gifts, phone calls, messages, goodies, flowers, and more!  LOVE LOVE LOVE my friends and family!!

That night my parents had us up for dinner which was wonderful!

After Darin got home from his meetings we had some yummy cake (which Darin bought and my sister decorated), then we opened gifts!

My favorite gift from Darin and my parents was this…

My new freezer!!  Thanks mom, dad, and Darin!!  (And check out that belly!)

And later in the week we went to Cold Stone!  

Thanks for the gift card mom and dad Gunnerson!  We loved it!

It was a WONDERFUL birthday!  I’m excited to welcome in 28!

Even something as simple as a Saturday shopping trip to Lowe's is fun when you've got these two cuties!

Heart Melter

On Monday, my parents offered to take Matt for a little outing to run errands.  Matt had a dollar that Darin’s parents sent him for Chinese New Year that I told him he could take and buy whatever he wanted. 

A while after they had left, I heard the doorbell ring, followed by a sweet little voice saying, “Special Devlivery!”  When I came around the corner, I found this:

 Of all the things that he could have bought, he told my parents that he wanted to buy me flowers!  What a sweetie!!  I LOVE them!  (He also told my parents that it would make his dad happy).  I love my flowers, and I LOVE that boy!!

Go JAZZ!!

My brother, Ben, offered us some Jazz tickets.

Of course we said yes!

He told me that he only likes to go to the Jazz game if he has good seats, so I was expecting to be up in the nose bleeds.

When I asked him when I could pick up the tickets he said, "When you drop off your kids to have us babysit during the game."  

Tickets and babysitting!!?  BEST EVER!!

4th Row!!!

We had SOOO much fun!!  How could you not with a view like this!?

The game was great (Jazz won!), the Jazz bear was hilarious, the seats were awesome, we made the big screen lots of times, and it was just the perfect night!

Thanks so much Ben and Kristy!  You guys are the BEST!!  Seriously, the BEST!!

Happy Mardi Gras!

We had a little belated mardi gras celebration.

We had some gumbo and rolls for dinner

With grape, spinach, and orange banana smoothies.

And for dessert we had some kings cake!
