Trip to St. George

This weekend we went on a real vacation (not one in our living room or backyard) but a little trip down to St. George! We had a wonderful time!! We ate a lot of yummy food and went to several fun places including Snow Canyon, Zion’s National Park, a Corn Festival, Mountain Meadow Massacre Memorial and other fun drives. We also had plenty of time for R&R! We took down the Wii and went golfing, bowling, and played other fun games. Matthew and Darin did especially great! Matt only bowled one time, but got a strike! And Darin got 6 strikes in a row!!! Thanks Mom and Dad for the WONDERFUL weekend!! We had a blast! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Trip to Ancient Greece

Darin, Matthew, and I took another vacation, but this time we took along our friends Bridget and Dane! For this vay-cay we went to none other than ancient Greece! (complete with togas). On the menu we had gyros, salad, and pitas with some AMAZING humus that Bridget made!!! She even made a stencil to add a decorative swirl of paprika on top (how cute is she!?) Darin also made the cute leaf head dresses seen below.

A special thanks goes out to my mother for all her help planning, and to my grandma and grandpa for letting us use their yard, table, chairs, authentic décor, the flags, and so much more!! We had a great time! The best part is that Dane is going to be a pilot, so maybe next time we will get a chance to go to real Greece!! Ha ha!! Thanks again for coming guys!! We love you! Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!

Swim Party With Grandma!

A few weeks ago we had a swim party at my mom’s house!! It was so much fun! My mom made a water slide down the hill in the back yard, the kids played “ring around the rosies” in the kiddy pool, Kristy traced all the girls with chalk and they made themselves mermaids, the kids got to go “fishing” off the balcony for prizes, they got mermaid barbies, and we had a delicious lunch, and the kids got to eat Jell-O with fish in the water and on top! We had so much fun! Here are a few pictures from the day!

Trip to China!

We had such a great time with our trip to Hawaii that we decided to go to China last night. We put on our Chinese clothes, and Matthew dressed up as a sumo wrestler (which darin later informed me is a Japanese thing...but don't you love Matt's mini fu manchu?) What is more fun than eating chinese food on the floor of your lining room in a little fort? Here are some photos from the night.

Notice Matthew in the background...don't worry I'm not sitting on his head, but he did love the fort!!

Happy 4th and Gunnerson Reunion

We had a WONDERFUL 4th of July weekend!! It started early as we went up to our cabin Thursday afternoon. Darin and I watched “Confessions of a Shopaholic” and then visited with Nate and Janie when they came up. Their kids were so fun and cute. Friday we met up with Chris, Heather, Rick, Olivia, Geoff, Jadi, and all of their kids and the South Summit Rec Center. It was so fun! We had a good time swimming ( Matthew’s first time), playing racquetball, and climbing the rock wall. After swimming we ate a yummy dinner and headed back to the cabin and met mom and dad for marshmallows and smores. Saturday morning we went to the Oakley Parade, ate lunch, and went for a hike! It was so fun to see everyone again and be all together (except we missed Thom). Thanks Rick and Olivia for planning such a fun weekend! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Matthew has started solids!

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful father’s in our lives!! We have such wonderful examples of fathers that I am so thankful for! We are so thankful for my dad and Darin’s dad for their kindness, generosity, examples, and dedication to the gospel! They have both taught me so much and I really feel like I have the best dad, and dad-in-law!

I am especially thankful for Matthew’s father, Darin! He is such a wonderful man, and I couldn’t ask for a better father for my son! Matthew absolutely adores Darin and so do I!! Happy Father’s Day!!

Latest Update

Last week was a great week!! On Monday Matthew went to the doctors for his 4 month check up! He is a healthy happy little boy and we love having him in our family!! He was 25% for his weight, 50% for his head, and 75% for height! On a separate note, Matthew loves his baths! Here is a video of what Matthew does everytime he gets a bath. Don't feel like you have to watch the whole thing, he is pretty much just kicking the whole entire time!!

Wednesday Darin brought me home flowers for another “Cute Wife’s Day!” I love that holiday!! Here are the beautiful flowers from my wonderful husband! Thursday my brother Rick and his wife Heather had their baby Grace!! She is so adorable!! We are so glad that she is here. Now Matthew has 6 girl cousins on my side, and no boy cousins yet. Friday and Saturday we spent up at the cabin. Here are a few pics from the trip.
