This year, our theme is "Try, try, try."
We decided to base our theme off of President Eyring's talk "Try, try, try."
We decided to focus on three ways to try.
Try your best.
Try new things.
Try to be like Jesus.
I wanted a tangible way to record the kids trying.
I found a fun wood decoration online that some people use for a wedding guest book.
It would have cost about $80.
Darin made this one for about $5.
Every day the kids will take one of the sticks and write down one way they tried that day. Either trying their best, trying something new, or something they did to try to be like Jesus.
For dinner, the kids picked a chacuterie board.
For dessert we had cake and Matt lit the candle this year for a wish for the new school year.
Last year, I tricked the kids and smashed their face into the cake.
Andrew thought that should be a family tradition, so we did!
