Our sweet buddy Andrew turned 5 today!
We had a wonderful time celebrating!
Andrew decided he wanted a cowboy birthday and it was probably the best party we have EVER done! I thought about renting a pony, but I usually like to keep my parties to $20-$25 a party, so it wasn't in the budget. Darin's dad suggested we get a pony, and after some financial assistance, we decided to go for it! I am SO glad we did! It was a HIT! (Thanks so much mom and dad!) The only thing I am sad about is not recording Lindsay's and Andrew's reactions to seeing the pony! (We kept it a surprise and it was so fun to see and hear their reactions!) With having a pony, I kept the rest of the activities pretty simple. I built a little Western town from cardboard (thanks Geoff and Jadi), that the kids used for imagination play. Then I spray painted a few pebbles to put in a bucket for the kids to "pan for gold." I was surprised by how much the kids loved that. But, without question, the BEST part was "Annie" the pony. There were even a few tears shed as she left. I even thought an hour later, "I wonder if she misses us." She was SUCH a good pony! I LOVED having her! Such a wonderful fun day!
