Louisiana Crawfish Boil

I checked another thing off my bucket list.....a Louisiana Crawfish Boil!!

My cousin, Blake, bout crawdad traps, and when I mentioned that this had always been a dream of mine, he included me in on the fun!  Blake caught all the crawfish, cleaned them (with Darin), and cooked them up with potatoes, corn, and sausage.  All I did was shucked the corn and put the newspaper on the table!

I thought this would just be a fun experience, but it was WAY better than I even expected!  I kind of wanted to do this, just so I could say I did it.  I had intentions of only eating ONE crawfish, but I was surprised how good they were, and I ate my share! I was SUPER proud of my kids--they all ate them, and even "sucked the head" at least one time each (although I did have to bribe Lindsay with a pack of gum to get her to suck the head).  Andrew was disgusted when he sucked the head, but later, when his friend came by, he acted super cool and told his friend that he did it, and it tasted really good.  Ha!  Funny guy!

THANK YOU SO MUCH BLAKE!!!
IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

Lucy 2 Months

Lucy is 2 months old!!

She has her two month check up this week, and we are looking forward to seeing her stats.  She is getting so big and so strong!   She is still an amazing little roller.  but she always does it using the momentum from her lower body instead of lifting her head.  She LOVES to be held, loves her binky, and loves the sounds of her siblings.  She is starting to smile more when awake and we even got a couple little coos and giggles this week!  We love you Lucy!!

Zoo

Yesterday we made a quick trip to the zoo.

I was SO proud of my kids!  They were such good helpers, minders, and they did it all with a happy attitude!  We hadn't been at the zoo for very long at all when I decided it was probably too hot for Lucy.  I thought they'd be sad and disappointed to leave so soon (especially because their cousins were there), but all three of them were very understanding and left without a single complaint.  To show my appreciation, we stopped for ice cream cones on the way home and ate them on the front lawn!  I sure love these GOOD kids!!

Drive In

We kept these kiddos up way past their bedtime to go to a drive in movie!! To say they loved it would be a huge understatement!! It was a perfect summer night!!  Darin even bought us all hamburgers--the kids thought that was pretty neat!  (And good thing Lucy was free because she slept through the whole thing!)
