April Fools and General Conference

I LOVE April Fools Day!!

This year, I stuck a flyer in Matt and Lindsay's bags saying they had to go to school on Saturday to make up for a snow day.  We got them up about 6:45 and headed to the school, but I just had to make a quick stop before dropping them off.  (Matt was really worried that they were going to be late, and BEGGED Darin to drop him off first, and then take me afterwards.  My quick stop was at a restaurant.  I asked Matt what day yesterday was, he said, "March 31st."  I said, yes, what day comes next?  He said, "Saturday........April 1st?  WAIT!!  APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!??" It was the BEST reaction ever!  So funny!!  The kids were REALLY excited to go out to breakfast at Sunshine cafĂ© and it was a really fun morning!

Since April Fools Day fell on General Conference, I did my regular treats, but with a twist!  My oreos had toothpaste inside (they didn't even notice), for lunch I made "hamburgers" (cookies), I replaced the candy part of the sucker with broccoli, and switched chocolate eggs with grapes!  The kids were SOOO good during general conference.  The only talk they struggled through was President Uchtdorf's talk on not using fear as motivation-- (which caused me to put it into action almost immediately).

I LOVE this picture!!  The exact moment they realize it is April Fools Day!!

St. Patrick's Day and Dr. Seuss Day!

We had two fun little holidays at our house!
St. Patrick's Day we had a green pancakes for breakfast, I got to do a class activity for Matt at school in the afternoon, we had our corned beef and cabbage for dinner, and last we used a couple gift cards we had been holding on to, and went to Cold Stone!  It was a really fun day!

Dr. Suess Day was a little more simplified this year, but at least we had a fun breakfast!
Green eggs, ham, and Cat in the Hat Pancakes!

Blue and Gold Banquet

Darin is our new Cub Master!  With the Blue and Gold Banquet, he asked me to be the committee chair and I could assign people to my committee.  Unfortunately, I really stink at delegating, and didn’t ask anyone to do anything (other than have the boys bring cakes for a contest).
I made and delivered the invitations, decorated the church, made the program, and made dinner for 60+ people!  It was a lot of work, and I am REALLY glad to have it done!  I think it went well though! J

Matt did AWESOME on his cake!  He really did the whole thing beginning to end by himself!  Sure proud of the good boy!

Blossoms at the Capitol!!!

Today was the PERFECT day to see the blossoms at the Capitol!!

So pretty!!

The temperature was perfect, there were SOOO many photo-shoots happening--but people were SOO kind to be aware of each other and move to the sides when they weren't taking pictures!  I was really impressed by the sensitivity of everyone!

If the storm doesn't knock them off tomorrow, and you haven't been, GET THERE!
I only wish I would have packed a picnic so we could have stayed longer!

Lindsay's PCMC appointment

Last week we had Lindsay's yearly appointment with her neurosurgeon.
It was a great report!
Her head is still really big, and far off the charts, but everything looks good and he said we can wait TWO YEARS before her next MRI!  Wahoo little Lindsay!!

And, we had to make a quick stop for a celebratory lunch!!

I had THE. BEST. 32nd Birthday!!

Darin and the kids made me a delicious breakfast in bed, my parents took me to El Matador, and Darin took me to Cheesecake Factory for my first time!  I also felt overwhelmed with cards, calls, texts, social media, and gifts!  Thanks for all the love everyone!  32 is going to be a great year!
