Trip to the Cabin

We didn't make it to the cabin as much as I would have liked to this summer.
We decided to take one more trip up before school starts.
Darin took Friday off and we headed up Thursday night.

There is something about being in nature, away from it all, that is so special.
I thought my heart was going to burst about 100 different times.
I cannot express how much I love this family of mine.

As a girl, I always imagined how my husband and kids would be.
I can honestly say, even in my wildest fantasies, I didn't think it could be THIS GOOD.

I love that my kids love each other.
I love that they think our family is the best!
I love how Darin is with our children.
I could not be more grateful for this life.

Darin took us to some fun lakes we had never seen.
Darin took Matt fishing while Lindsay, Andrew, and I cuddled in bed.
As always, the trip was filled with music, yummy food, relaxation, marshmallows and more.

And here is a little video I made of our trip.

Proctor's BYC

Every year the Proctor Family hosts the most amazing Back Yard Concert!
It is one of my favorite nights of the year!
Not only are they all super talented, but they have great taste in music.

The weather was perfect, Sue's garden was GORGEOUS (per her norm), the food was delicious, and the music was sensational!

Lindsay and Sue!

Lindsay's popcorn got stuck to her cantaloupe and she thought it was HILARIOUS!

Sue, always being the perfect hostess!

Chris and Andy totally look like rock-stars!

Thanks Proctors for yet another amazing night!!

Last Swim of the Summer

Every Thursday we do a "Sisters Swim Day."
We decided to do our last one and go out with a BANG!
Unfortunately for us, (and lucky for them) Hez went on a cruise and Heather went on an Anniversary getaway trip!  So, Kristy, mom, and I did our last one with a BANG!

I sure love watching my kids play with their cousins.
I have spent EVERY summer of my life at this pool, and I have SO many wonderful memories of this pool with MY cousins.  Playing "bumper bums" with Heidi and Andrea.  Playing Mario, Lugi, and Princess Peach and pretending the handles on the side of the pool were Yoshis with Stephen and Blake.  My first time EVER doing photography was taking pictures of Maddie jumping off the diving board.  I remember doing different style dives (ballerina and frog were the favorite) with Chandler, Krista, and more.  Other games like Marco Polo, Categories, Sharks, and more with all the rest of my cousins.

I'm so glad that my kids can continue those same traditions at the pool with their cousins.

COUSINS ARE THE BEST!!

Back to School Luncheon

Last year, my cute friend Kellie asked me if I would be PTA treasurer.
Knowing next to nothing about PTA, and thinking the treasurer did nothing, I said yes.
Oh, how I was wrong!  Treasure was VERY busy, and as much as I tease Kellie, I really did like it.

This year, I decided to take a step back and sign up for "hospitality" which basically means I get to do all the PTA meals for the teachers.
I LOVE it!  This is a great fit for me!  Last week was my first job: the back to school luncheon.

I made BBQ chicken sandwiches, chips, coleslaw, and cupcakes.
My new friend Audrey brought watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, and banana bread.
The teachers seemed to like it, and it was fun to do.

I made this fun little backdrop for the luncheon.
It made me feel good that one of the teachers reused it for her "bulletin board."
Then the principle wanted it for a backdrop for teacher pictures she had me take.
(As much as I like how it turned out, I thought the outside would be a better backdrop).

I LOVE these teachers at Matt's school.
And I LOVE Matt's teacher!
(She's the top right in the pink!)

But, as much as I love these teachers, I wish I could keep Matt a little boy forever and just spend all day every day with that little fellow!

Another thing I love about PTA is the other moms on PTA.
And I LOVE their boys!
And I LOVE how good their boys are to my kids!
They helped watch my kids the whole time I got the luncheon ready and took the pictures of the teachers.
