Princesses and Pirates

Today we went to Farmington Crossing for a Princess and Pirate Party.  I couldn't believe how many people were there--it was PACKED, but the kids had fun!

They had pirate bowling and Matt got a STRIKE on his first try!  He got to pick a prize from the treasure chest.

Lindsay loved getting to see all the princesses.  Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, and the Fairy Godmother were there too, but the lines were a little too long.

The Queen of Hearts and Alice were DARLING with Lindsay, and said, "Hello Princess!"
She loved it!

I am 99.9% convinced that this is a REAL pirate!
He even "pierced" Matt's ear.  (He didn't love that).

I love this little princess and pirate!!

African Safari at Hogle Zoo

Today Kristy invited us to the African Safari Grand Opening!
It was SUCH a FUN day!
The kids got free cookies, sunglasses, masks, tattoos, and art projects.
We rode on the new train, the carousel, and learned how to play African drums.
We went to the bird show, (so fun to run into you Gina), and saw the new animals.

It was a PERFECT day!  Thanks again Kristy!

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of not having a last day of school.  Did that make ANY sense?

My friend, Camie, invited us over to celebrate the last day of school (even though none of my kids are in school, but this is the LAST time I can say that)—I still can’t believe Matt starts Kindergarten in the fall!

She had popsicles, water balloons, and water guns.
Andrew found a little mud pile, and had some fun!
Thanks Camie!

Memorial Day Weekend

Sunday afternoon, we decided to go to SLC to visit a few graves.
We cut some flowers from our yard, woke the kids from their naps, and headed out.
Our kids are kind of a mess, but it was a fun drive.
I LOVE the cemetery during Memorial Weekend.

Monday, we had a nice BBQ at my sister's house.
After dinner we visited Grandpa Hodgkinson's and Grandma Welling's graves in Bountiful.

Construction

Our power was out for about 10 hours the other day. We had some workers come to fix the problem--which happened to be in our yard.
They started working about 5:30 in the morning. Around 8:30, the kids and I decided to take them some breakfast.

They finally finished working around 5:30 that evening.

Matt wanted me to take his picture by the machines. They didn't get to just stand by the machines or even in them....see the video below! The workers were SO nice to us!
