Fathers and Sons

I’m so thankful to have a husband that is not only good enough to take my sons camping, but to plan the whole event.

Matt had a WONDERFUL time and I think everyone else did too.

One funny story…

The morning of the campout, Darin was feeling a little overwhelmed with all he had to do.  Together we made a list of groceries he’d need to buy for the campout.  While he was at work, I decided to be an awesome wife and do the shopping for him.  After I finished (with the biggest cart of groceries EVER) I noticed the I had 5 missed calls from Darin.  He was calling to let me know that he got off work extra early and already did the shopping.  Luckily, they were really nice at the store and let me return everything I had just bought!

While the boys are away...the girls will PLAY!

Darin took Matthew to fathers and sons for the weekend.
Lindsay and I stayed home and had a girls night.

We started with facials and pedicures.

Next, Lindsay did my hair and makeup!

We got all dolled up and ready for our TEA PARTY!!

We took it to the backyard and enjoyed tea (aka orange vitamin water) and pastries!

The "Inside Parent" Gets Dirty

I LOVE that Darin loves to garden....because I don't particularly enjoy it.
Darin lovingly calls me the "inside parent" and he is clearly the "outside parent."

Yesterday, I spent several hours getting my hands dirty.
I weeded, I tilled, I dug, and I planted.

And I loved getting help from this little cutie.  (He wasn't so clean when we finished).

Taylor + France

My darling friend, France, asked me to take some pictures of her family.  I am by no means a professional photographer, but I LOVE how they turned out.  They have such a BEAUTIFUL family!!

Cinco de Mayo

Darin and I hosted a little neighborhood Cinco de Mayo potluck.
We have the BEST neighbors in the world, and it was fun to spend an evening with them.

We had lots of yummy food, with a good variety.
It was a PERFECT night!
The weather was beautiful and it was fun to sit and visit with everyone.

After dinner we had a little photo booth, and a pinata for the kids (that I made myself).

Thanks for coming you wonderful neighbors!!

I am kind of in love with this picture of Andrew!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Alphabet Dates—G Date

I had a fun “G Date” planned.  We were going to go out to dinner with our GIFT CARD, and then go GOLFING, but poor little Andrew has been so sick.

We improvised quickly and had GRAPE juice, a GREEN salad with GALA apples, GARLIC bread, and GORGONZOLA GNOCCI that was GARNISHED with basil from our GARDEN.

Darin and I worked in the GARDEN while the kids played on the GRASS.  They ended up GETTING their swimsuits on and running threw the sprinklers.

Later that night we played GAMES with GRANDMA and GRANDPA.

Earth Day!

We had an "after-thought" Earth Day.
I wanted to have a little Earth Day play-date, but poor Andrew has been sick.

So, we just went to the field behind our house and picked up garbage.

(Am I a bad mother because I didn't even give my kids gloves?)

The field looked MUCH better after the kids had been there.

Then we added a bunch of plants to our back yard.

We looked at the clouds....which turned into doing "airplane."

Happy Earth Day!!
