H. O. Gunnerson Reunion

Today we went to the H.O. Gunnerson Reunion.
This year Uncle Al and Aunt Vicki were in charge and did a GREAT job!
I LOVE all of the Gunnerson family and any chance we get to be with them.

It was so fun to visit with our family and the kids had fun too.

Matt loved loved the water-slide and did it probably close to 100 times.

Lindsay loved playing with the hangers in the bubbles.

We had a yummy lunch.

And the kids LOVED the face painting!
Thanks Heather and Wendy!

Thanks for a wonderful day Al and Vicki!

CAA Adventure Camp

This week Matt has been at "Adventure Camp" at Creative Arts Academy.
(Kind of similar to Lindsay's Princess Camp).
We debated about doing it this year, but I'm so glad we did!
Matt LOVED it!!

Monday was "Secret Agent" Day.

They learned how to be "Spy Kids," they got to go through a laser course in the dark, and they got cool Nerf dart blowers to keep.

(I think Matt looks a little TOO tough in this picture).

Tuesday was Harry Potter Day.

His teacher really went all out!
The room looked really cool and was decorated with big banners of the different houses.
They got to do different spells to transform snakes, make explosions, and unlock doors.
They had Harry Potter snacks and ate dinosaur teeth and spiders webs.
They had a fun potion class with all kinds of cool beakers.

Wednesday was "Superhero Day."

They made capes, swords, shields, and they slayed a dragon!

Thursday was Pirate Day

They learned how to talk like a pirate and how to sword fight.  They also went on an adventure to find pieces of a map, they put the map together, went on a treasure hunt, found the treasure chest, and shared treasure complete with gold coins!

I would have to say, it was a GREAT week!

Bountiful International Summerfest Street Dance

Darin and I took the kids to the Bountiful SUmmerfest Street Dance.
Every year they have dancers come from all over the world.
This year they came from Chile, Martinique, Netherlands, and Taiwan.
They have live bands, dancers, food, and audience participation.

They have more free performances on the 8-10.  Click HERE if you're interested.

We enjoyed all the dancers, but this is always my favorite part:

We Love Mushu!! (aka—David LaMarr)

When we saw Mulan at Tuacahn in St. George, our FAVORITE character was Mushu.
He was so funny, he did a great job with his own actions intertwined with the puppet, he had  an amazing voice, a contagious laugh, and he played the part extremely well!
After the play was over, the kids went to get their pictures taken with the characters.
Matthew went straight to Mushu and gave him a big hug!

When we got home, Matt kept “writing” letters to Mushu , putting them in envelopes, and sticking them in the mailbox  After a day of this, I decided to help him write an REAL letter.
Matt told me what to write and then he signed it and drew a picture on the back.
We put it in an envelope and sent it to Tuacahn.

About a week later we found this on our front porch:

Check out who it is from:

Matt was THRILLED!!!

He got a letter from Mushu and a signed poster from all the characters.

Matt honestly has this whole letter memorized, and takes it everywhere!

THANK YOU MUSHU (David)!!
You have made this 4 year old VERY happy!!

Back Yard Concert

Last night we went to the Proctor’s Annual “Back Yard Concert.”
It really is one of my favorite nights of the summer…even of the whole year!
The WHOLE Proctor family is so talented and we LOVE listening to them!

We started off with a yummy potluck!
And I wish I would have taken more pictures of their yard...Sue is an AMAZING gardener!

Matt was beyond thrilled that he got ORANGE SODA!!!

Our Andy (above) listening to their Andy (below).

Lindsay made new friends with the two ladies next to us.
We didn't see her much after that.

I REALLY do love the concert, but I think one of my favorite parts was getting to talk to this cute lady via the internet!

LOVE YOU LINDSAY!!

(My other favorite part was when Jeff dedicated a song to himself ha ha!!)

Thanks again Proctors!
It was a WONDERFUL night!!

Austin's Shower

Today I threw a Bridal Shower for one of my old Young Women, Austin.
We love Austin, and so does everyone else, so she had a REALLY big group.
So, my mom let me have the shower at her house since she has more space.  (Thanks mama).

We had a lot of great people and a lot of really yummy food too!
And lucky me, I have a lot of WONDERFUL friends who helped out too!!
(Thank you wonderful friends!!)

I forgot to take a picture of this cute ice ring I made until it was nearly melted.
(It was a lot cuter at the beginning of the party).

I also thought these mini cakes I made turned out cute.
I frosted them with blackberry frosting and topped them with a mint leaf and fresh blackberry (both from our garden).

Congrats Alex and Austin!!

We are SO excited for you two!!
