The New Car!!

Last Friday night I drove Darin to the airport so he could fly to Arizona to bring home this:

OUR NEW HONDA PILOT!!

We bought it from Geoff and Jadi—for a GREAT deal, and we LOVE it!!

We’ve been thinking about it for a while, and we've been saving for longer, and we finally did it!

Here are the top ten things I love about this car (in no particular order).

First, the leather!  Who knew I’d love leather so much!!  (And the heated seats).

Second, we can fit EIGHT people in this car, and comfortably!
(I also love that you can put one row, two rows, or part rows down when we need space for things).

Third, I love that I can check on kids with this nifty device.  It also holds my sunglasses.

Fourth, Matt’s favorite thing is the DVD player with wireless headphones 

  (He also loves the sunroof—I LOVE it too, but didn’t take a picture).

Fifth, the TomTom GPS.  So fun!  “Turn left in point two miles.”  Thank you Bonnie!

Sixth, everything in this section.  

There are tons of hidden compartments, CD player that holds 6 CDs at a time, the DVD player, the controls for the air that you can program down to the degree, and more.

Seventh, In the middle storage compartment, there is an outlet—

the possibilities are endless with this!

Eighth, I can change the volume, radio station, or change to CDs all from the steering wheel.

Ninth, did I mention that my last car did not have power windows—How did I live without them!!? 

Tenth, I love the way it looks!  I love the shape, style, and I  LOVE the color!  Right after we bought the car, I thought, “We just spent a ton of money, and I don’t even know what color the car is!” (Geoff joked that is was pink).  I’ve noticed a TON of Honda Pilots since buying this car, but I’ve yet to see this color.  I LOVE the color—not silver, not black, just in between.

1st Swim of the Year!

We went for our first swim of the year today!

Matt is still really timid in the water, but Heather is helping him along.

Lindsay is my little fish--she loves the water!

And a trip to the pool wouldn't be complete without a treat from Grandpa!

Today we got ice-cream cones!

Lindsay was so excited, she took her cone around to every person and said,

"Look at my cone!"

We're excited for a fun summer with this cute crew!

Randomness .

Here are just some random pictures--none of them really go together, but here you go!

This is the view from our backyard over the fence.
I will often see 6+ deer in the field behind our house.

I love watching them while I do the dishes.

However, I don't love when they eat my tulips.

My oober cute cousin, Katie, and her darling kids came for a visit.

I wish I would have taken more pictures.  It was such a fun day!

And she is pretty much AMAZING.  

Even though she has FOUR kids, and her youngest is just a few weeks older than Andrew,

 she left us a DELICIOUS dinner for that night.

We had a little picnic in our backyard.

I told Katie she could bring some fruit, and she made these cute fruit faces!

Our nephew, Cooper, was baptized this weekend.

We are so proud of him!

And last, our poor little Andrew has an infected tear duct.

This is after his second round of medicine, so it doesn't even show him at his worst, 

but we're happy to report he's looking much better already.

Date Night!

Darin and I went on our first date since Andrew was born.

We also left ALL THREE KIDS for the first time! 

We went out to dinner at one of my favorites—Royal India on Main Street in Bountiful.

If you haven’t been there, and like Indian Food, it is a must!

The food was delicious (Lamb Coconut Kurma and Chicken Tikka Masala) and the company was even better.

Andrew's Blessing

Today Darin gave Andrew a name and a blessing.

It was a beautiful blessing.

(This month also happens to be the month that he conducts sacrament meeting, and he did a great job with that too).

We were so blessed to have so much of our family there, and we missed those that couldn't make it.

After sacrament meeting, we had a little luncheon in our backyard.

It was a delicious lunch!  Thank you to EVERYONE who helped!!

We had ham and cheese sandwiches (that mom, Rick, and aunt Vicki assembled--THANKS!!)

Potato chips (thanks mom), a yummy pasta salad (thanks Heather), a yummy green salad (thanks Rick, Heather, and sister Costco), yummy watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries (thanks mom), tasty cookies (thanks Glenis and Ben), delicious chocolate rice crispy squares (thanks Olivia), mouth watering brownies (thanks Laurie), and chocolate cream cheese cake.

These are the cookies my brother Ben made....salted caramel....so yummy!!

....and Kristy read him the recipe! ;)

(by the way she's 6 months pregnant---totally can't even tell---I look more pregnant than she does!!)

I LOVE this boy!!

Improvements

Andrew had his baby blessing this weekend.

Since I knew we were going to have the family over for a luncheon afterwards, 

I've been working in the yard.

I'll admit, I'm not a lover of yard work--unlike my awesome farmer of a husband.

However, I couldn't help but smile over the improvements, and then take a picture.

I went back in my computer files, and found an old picture of our house to compare the two.

Then I REALLY saw the improvements!

 I'm really happy with the changes we've made in our few years here so far.

We've painted the garage door, front door, and light fixtures.

We replaced the ugly orange roof with a black one.

We've added more curbing, a tree, 5 boxwoods, and more flowers.

And slowly, our lawn is improving.

  

Look at the before and after and see if you can tell a difference, I know I can!

I am really liking these new pots we added this weekend.

And the new black mat Darin bought be for mother's day.

We transplanted these hostas in the fall and I was worried they wouldn't come up....but they did!

I can't wait for the hostas, flowers, and canis to fill in a little more!
