Matthew's First Hair Cut

Matthew got his first haircut on Saturday! I had a dream on Friday that someone thought he was a girl, so I knew it was time for the cut. Grandpa Gunnerson gave him his first cut! Here are a few of the pics.

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter!!

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend! It started on Wedndsay when Darin's mom brought Matthew a little cute Easter bag:

On Friday night Darin and I dyed some hard boiled eggs!

Saturday Morning the Easter Bunny brought us our Easter Baskets and hid eggs around our apartment for me to find!! (The Easter bunny did a really good job hiding the eggs and I had a lot of fun finding them!) Us with our Easter baskets:

Sunday was a wonderful Easter day! Darin and Matthew took a nap together before church. Aren’t they cute?!

After church we went to my parents for a delicious dinner!! Here are some of the pictures from the afternoon.

I took orange rolls for the dinner. I was pretty nervous to make them, but I was glad that they turned out. For the recipe click here.

Darin bought me this beautiful Easter Lilly. The last flower just bloomed today!

I also made some peanute butter chocolate Easter eggs. For this recipe click here.

I won!!

My sister Heather posted on her blog a cute thing that went something like this:

The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me personally. What I make is my choice, but it will be made JUST FOR YOU! My choice. For you. However, like all things that sound too good to be true :), this offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- There is no guarantee that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you personally.
3- It will be completed sometime this year. :)
4- You will receive no clues as to what it's going to be. I'll let you post a request of some sort with your comment, but still... it could be anything!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange if I so desire... it may blow your mind! Or it may not. It may be very simple and predictable... but hopefully you will benefit from it!

And I was the first one to comment and I got a super cute gift!! She gave me an Easter basket filled with a homemade card (that was super cute!), the book “Gossamer” (for me to read in the tub), and four “Bath Bombs” (that were shaped like little Easter eggs! They smell amazing!! She made vanilla, pear-berry, green apple, and melon-cucumber. I have such a talented sister!

Now, I am not as good as Heather, so don’t expect anything great, but I am going to do the same thing! So, first 5 people to comment on my blog, I will make you some sort of something! Enjoy!!

Conference Weekend

I love General Conference weekend!! Every year there is always at least one message that I feel is just for me! This year there seemed to be several! I love hearing from our Prophet and Apostles, they always have messages that make me want to do better!

This year Darin was able to go to two sessions, and the last session was especially fun because our niece Breanna came down and spent it with us! We played conference BINGO, had cheese on toast, and decorated Easter egg cookies! We had a great time! Here are a few of the pics!

Our First Family Vacation!!

Last weekend we had our first family vacation with little Matthew! We went down to Darin's parent's house in St. George! The weather was BEAUTIFUL!! We had a great time with Darin's parent's, brother, and nephews! Matthew loved playing with Noah and Luke! They are great cousins! We went on a nice walk, I went for a run (and got lost--making my run a little longer), did some golfing, frisbee, and relaxing! We had a great time! Here are a few of the pics!

We had a wonderful time!! The only bad part was leaving the beautiful weather only to come home to a snowstorm in Bountiful!!

Matthew Update

Matthew is 2 months old now!! He is such a good boy! I feel like the luckiest mom in the world!! Matthew slept 9 1/2 hours last night!! What a good little boy! Hopefully it continues! We went to the Doctors on Wednesday and he is tall and skinny just like his dad! He is in the 25% for head (15 1/4 in.) he is 25% for weight (10lbs 7oz), and 60% (23 1/4 in) for length. He also had his shots and he was so brave and such a good boy. Later he had to take tylenol, oral vaccine, and vitamin D, and he drank all of them without any fuss!! At 7 weeks Matthew rolled over twice, but hasn't done it since. We sure love playing with this little guy--he is always so smiley and even gives us a few laughs here and there! Well, that is the latest update for Matthew! Enjoy the pictures!!

What are your easter traditions?

Now that Matthew is here, I am looking forward to starting some family traditions. Darin and I have talked about some of the things that our familys did for Easter, Darin's family did an egg hunt, and my family had to follow a piece of yarn to find our basket. My mom would also make us an Easter dress every year, and we'd get new shoes too! But I would love to hear some more ideas! So, what are your easter traditions?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here is a breif blog of our St. P's day food! For any of the recipes go to my food blog by clicking here. hayleesfood.blogspot.com

Breakfast--clover shaped french toast. Would you believe that I have over 100 cookie cutters, and not one of them is a shamrock!? So, I had to use heart and put them together. Here is the outcome!

Lunch--Again, no shamrock cookie cutter, so I just used food coloring to die the tuna green, and painted a shamrock on Darin's bread.

Dinner--stuffed green peppers, green rice, green honeydew, and green key lime pie fruit dip!
Dessert--Again, no shamrock cookie cutter (I really need to invest in one)

Gunnerson Update

Matthew is growing and getting so big! It makes me a little sad to see how quickly he is growing! He went in for his two week check up, and he has gained over a pound and grew 2" since he was born!! And that was only two weeks!! He sure is a cutie though! Here are a few pictures of Matthew just looking cute, enjoying his bath, and wearing Darin's glasses:

Also, Darin missed his birthday becuase we were in the hospital, so here is Darin enjoying his late birthday!
