#6- See “Wicked”

After 6+ years of waiting, and watching (what seemed to be) EVERYONE else going....

I FINALLY saw WICKED!!!!

I was a little worried that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but is surpassed them!!

Oh man!  It was SOOO good!!

I LOVE Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel and was worried this cast wouldn’t compare,
but they were FABULOUS!!  Alli Mauzey as Glinda was hilarious!

We were all in tears laughing so hard!  SO cute!!

We (my parents, my sister Heather, my SIL Heather, my SIL Kristy, and I)
went out to dinner at the Olive Garden, where I “hoarded” all the food (ha ha) before the show.

Then we got a little pre-show photo.

And an after show photo with my tear washed make-up.

Oh, and also, check out these DARLING shoes with cookies
that my sister made us a few days before the show!

  SO CUTE!!  Thanks Heather!

Thanks Kristy for the tickets, and thanks Dad for lunch!
And thank you to Darin for watching the kids,
and then letting me come home to a sparkling clean house!

Trip to England!

With the Olympics here, I thought it was time for our family to take a “trip” to England!

Friday night we ate dinner by “Big Ben.”

Of course we had to have fish n’ chips!

Followed by a little English Trifle!

Then we watched the opening ceremonies!

In the morning we had a little English breakfast!

Eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, and toast!

Lindsay kept sneaking beans when I wasn’t looking at made a little mess!

We also went to visit “Buckingham Palace.”
And had a little tea party complete with tea and crumpets!

(Don’t you think Lindsay’s face is priceless here?  “That is NOT how we drink tea!”)

The best part was that there was no jet lag!

2012 Summer Olympics

We had a  little Olympic party at our house with a few of our friends.
We started out with the opening ceremonies.
Germany got to bring in the torch because they had on the best outfits.

Each family chose a country and brought some food to represent their country.

On to the games!  We had swimming,

Discus,

High jump,

Long jump,
Basketball,
100 meter dash,
Fencing,
And gymnastics.
Last we tallied the scores,

gave out the awards,

and had closing ceremonies!

It was a really fun night!

Pioneer Day!

We had a fun Pioneer Day at our house!

It was full of fun activities!

We made our own butter,

we dressed up like pioneers,

we played stick pull,

and we made homemade salt water taffy!

Later we went to a neighbor's house for more pioneer games and dinner.

They had a sawing contest (Darin and his partner won).

They had potato sack races.

And we ended with a firework show!  (One of the perks of living west of Orchard Dr.)

It was the perfect pioneer day!!

Red Butte Garden

We always LOVE free days at Red Butte!
And while we were there, we just HAD to have a little photo shoot!
Thanks Kristy for Lindsay’s  dress and thanks Katie for Lindsay’s bow!
